The Assistant Designer provides operational support to the Design team in the creation and execution of a line. The Assistant Designer researches relevant trends, maintains the organization of the design office, communicates with the cross functional team (Merchandising, Production, Graphics), and assists the team in preparation for all milestone meetings. PLM knowledge is a must.

• Create sketches of styles in development.
• Maintain logs for sample tracking and update CBS sheets
• Maintain seasonal collection boards and walls.
• Execute organized, accurate technical packages.
• Develop strong working relationships with cross functional team members (Merchandising, Production and Graphics) through communication and problem solving.
• Create and update seasonal assortment sheet.
• Maintain awareness of current selling information as well as market trends and conditions.
• Understand the basics of the production process as it relates to the classification.
• Maintain awareness of corporate calendar and help supervisor manage deadlines.
• Attend and participate in fit sessions. Take detailed notes and follow up as needed.
• Assist in day to day responsibilities including filing/organizing, copying and updating development packages.
• Shop the market on a regular basis for ideas and inspiration.
• Research and identify trends that are relevant to the customer.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Design
• Strong sketching skills with the ability to sketch quickly in Illustrator
• Must demonstrate proficiency in CAD, Photoshop, Illustrator and PLM is a must
• Must have ability to be flexible, multi-task and shift priorities
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Understanding of the Brand and Customer.
• Adhere to regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration. Job duties may be performed effectively using the hybrid work program designated by the company.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor as the company retains the right to change duties to this position.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours per day
• Ability to constantly operate a computer, other office equipment and look at a monitor for up to 8 hours per day
• Ability to clearly and accurately communicate and exchange information verbally, in writing, or through other means in person, telephonically, or through virtual communication methods
• Ability to reach at or below shoulder level
• Ability to carry equipment, move boxes/samples, etc.
