The Sales Audit Accountant is responsible for the auditing of Direct to Consumer sales, daily reconciliations and analysis for Lucky Brand retail stores and ecommerce to ensure timely and accurate reporting and analysis for month end close.
•Auditing daily sales for retail stores and E-Commerce in Micros
•Ensures accurate and timely auditing of sales and sufficient control over cash.
•Ensure third party credit balancing reporting
•Supports monthly financial close process (journal entries, balancing, returns reserves, review, analysis, etc.)
•Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and drawer funds
•Manages the reporting of over/short issues, liability reconciliations and policy violations
•Collaborate with internal groups including IT Shared Services to ensure accurate and complete financial reporting
•Performs process review and offers recommendations for improvements in efficiency and accuracy
•Ensures the daily auditing of sales transactions from retail stores
•Verifies cash deposits, credit card activity and petty cash activity and researches any tender variances
•Identify and resolve cash overshort, gift card and credit card discrepancies
•Alerts Sales Audit Supervisor of any shortages or suspicious transaction activity
•Manages the verification of sales have been captured in the system and there are no missing transactions
•Reconciling E-Commerce month end statement
•Assist with ad-hoc Sales Audit projects as required; assist with user testing for register/system releases
•Liaise with Store Operations and Loss Prevention to address operational or integrity concerns
•Bank Reconciliations – including depository account for both CC and Cash utilizing Chesapeake
•4 year degree in Accounting, Economics, Business or related function required
•1-2 years Accounting/Finance experience
•1+ years of related sales audit experience, preferably in a retail environment
•Understanding of U.S. GAAP Principles
•Experience with Finance and Accounting systems and processes (budgeting, forecasting & reconciliation of actual results) NetSuite preferred but not mandatory
•Strong analytical, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
•Ability to effectively interface with employees at all levels
•Ability to work independently and deal with ambiguity in data issues
•Strong relationship skills, good oral and written communication
•Initiative and willingness to lead within ambiguous environments
•Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast paced environment
•Ability to learn new systems quickly
